The Collective Transport System Metro (STCM) informed on Saturday that the stations of Line 2 (blue) and 6 (red) will remain closed until further notice. Authorities alerted users to take precautions and avoid the Zócalo and Lindavista stations respectively. As an alternative, it was recommended to use Pino Suárez and Allende on Line 2, or San Juan de Letrán, Bellas Artes on Line 8 to reach the center of the capital.
In the case of Line 6, the closure was a preventive measure after a fire broke out at the Collector Camp 13, near the Lindavista station. The fire affected commercial premises and homes of victims of the 1985 earthquake. 100 people were evacuated and no fatalities were reported. The fire caused damage to 25 homes and in an area of one thousand square meters, also affecting nearby electrical and fiber optic wiring.
